You’ll likely find it easier to follow than classic literature or heavier fantasy. Keep a dictionary or translation app handy, but try to immerse yourself in the story without getting stuck on every unfamiliar word. You’ll be surprised how quickly your vocabulary and reading confidence grow.
Why Read It in English?

Reading a book in its original language, especially a spicy or emotionally charged fantasy, is so much more engaging than reading it in translation. You’re not just enjoying the plot; you’re also soaking up English vocabulary, improving your pronunciation, and getting a feel for the natural flow of the language.
My Thoughts on the Book

A Court of Thorns and Roses is both straightforward and gripping. The plot is easy to follow, yet the world-building is captivating.
My favorite character so far is Rhysand (Rhys). He really gives off a vibe similar to Xaden from The Fourth Wing—charismatic, mysterious, and undeniably intriguing.
On the other hand, Feyre isn’t my favorite. She’s not as compelling, and I personally couldn’t connect with her as much.
Fun Extra: Book Overlay

I’m so in love with a particular scene between Rhysand and Feyre that I decided to buy an overlay specifically featuring that moment. It’s just that memorable!
Final Verdict

If you’re looking for a step up in your English reading journey, this series is a great place to start. It’s manageable for those who are new to reading in English but want a bit of a challenge. And once you get caught up in the plot, you’ll forget you’re even learning.
I’ve already started the second book, A Court of Mist and Fury, and I can’t wait to share how it goes!
