The term 'homonormativity' describes contemporary assumptions about lesbian identity. This concept, however, marginalizes subgroups within the greater lesbian population. Presenting multidisciplinary discussion about what is a definable lesbian identity, this text explores issues about gender policing and the viewpoints in lesbian communities.
